Hello! My name is Fafá and I’m a mommy to a premature baby who seems to have ignored this fact.
Baby S is the reason I created this blog and everything that comes with it – to offer other parents (and
non-parents too) tips on mindful and sustainable parenting, cloth nappies, breastfeeding, clean beauty,
babywearing, and healthy baby food / baby led weaning. The idea was given to me by one of my
brothers, who calls me to ask for advice on the most random of subjects. “As Dicas da Fafá” translates as
“Fafá’s tips” and he told me I should write a book with this title. I mulled over the idea and came to the
conclusion a book is a long-shot, but why not start here? I began with my Instagram profile, followed by
Facebook, my YouTube channel and now this blog. Along the way, I’ve managed to generate a sense of
community, which is what drives me to do more and better every day.
The posts I share are based on our parenting adventure and what I would have liked to know about, too.
Beauty comes in as a passion of mine (I trained as a professional MUA) and I’ve been on a quest for
cruelty free and organic skincare and beauty brands. After all, I’m still a woman ;).
You’ll find a large part of what I do is cloth-nappy related, as this makes a huge difference in our baby’s
carbon footprint. There seems to be a lot of contradictory information out there and parents can easily
get lost in the sea of unknown, so armed with “#clothmadesimple” my job is to help parents find proper
and simple information and transition into the wonderful world of cloth. I am cloth nappy consultant
and give workshops on this, as well as on natural beauty.
I live in Portugal with Mr B, Baby S’s father, and Tug the Pug. I’m actually a translator and conference
interpreter. I love my job! I had a British education but I’m very much Portuguese and that’s why I made
this blog (and all my social media) bilingual.
Thank you for being here and let’s make eco-friendly choices together!
